To combat spam, DokuWiki is by default configured to enable what it call Delayed Indexing. Delayed indexing basically try to delay indexing by search engines by adding noindex,nofollow robots meta tag to newly added and edited pages.

While this is useful to moderate spam edit of pages, it will cause the page to not be indexed by search engines, and all the links in the page will not be followed. This is a very bad scenario for SEO as not only the page will not be visible in search results but also the PageRank or link juice will not flow to other pages link from it. It will be disastrous if the page affected is the main page itself.

You can find the following meta tag when viewing the source of the page which indexing has been delayed.

<meta name="robots" content="noindex,nofollow" /> 

PHP will exit with the following error once it reaches the maximum allowed time for it to execute your scripts;

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in yourscript.php

You can avoid this error by increasing the maximum execution time for PHP. This can be set globally or from within your PHP scripts from these options;

phpMyAdmin configuration is normally stored in config.inc.php and the location of the file varies depending on the distribution.

The table below lists some of the possible locations.

If the config.inc.php does not exist or if specific configuration is absent from the file, default values are used instead.

The program to view and extract rar files in Linux is provided by the unrar program. It’s not installed by default in most Linux distributions, and you can use the following command to install it in Ubuntu.

$ sudo apt-get install unrar

Once installed, you can use the l argument to the program to view the content of a rar file without extracting it. An example is as the following;

$ unrar l filename.rar

S3 buckets are by default private. You can configure your S3 buckets to be publicly accessible by applying appropriate bucket policy with the following steps. Be warned that his method will make the whole content of the bucket public.

1. Create a private S3 bucket if you don’t already have one.

2. In the AWS S3 console, select the bucket that you want to make public.
   
3. Click on the Properties tab to the top right of the page and click on the Permissions card.
   
4. Click on Add bucket policy link.

8. Within your bucket, select any of your object and click on the Properties tab.

Vim has the ability to display line numbers on the left side of the text, but normally is not enabled by default.

From the man page, dd is a Unix tool to “copy a file, converting and formatting according to the operands”.

To raw copy or backup a hard drive is to “copy” the block device file itself, probably to a file, or directly to another harddisk.

Assuming the hard drive to be copied is /dev/sda, and the target is another harddisk detected as /dev/sdb, the following command will duplicate /dev/sda to /dev/sdb

$ sudo dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb

In this example, the option if is for the input file, and of is for the output file.

The content of both disk should be the same, including the MBR, partition table, and all the data. Just make sure the target disk is bigger in size than the source.

You can easily view cellular network data usage in iPhone and iPad (any iOS devices in general). Available data includes total usage and breakdown of your data usage per apps. You can also reset the usage counter if you want to. That’s possible with these simple steps;

If you’re on a Unix based operating system, you can run php -i from the terminal and look for Loaded Configuration File from the output to get the location for your exact system such as the following;

Sharing your folder will allow other users on the network to view, download and edit the content of the folder via the network. While this can be done using the GUI, it’s easier when using the command line, if you know how. This article will show you just that.

Assuming you have a folder in your c: drive called testdir, and you want to share it over the network with the name mydirectory, you can do that by just using the following command at the command prompt.

net share mydirectory=c:testdir

Once you’re done with the sharing and want to disable it, just issue the following command at the command prompt.

net share /delete mydirectory
