Some applications or services are required to run when a Linux system boots to provide core system functionalities. The same goes for KDE where there are specific services that KDE requires to run properly. It includes services such as for monitor system notification along with free space.

These background services for KDE can easily be stopped and configured to not automatically start on new KDE sessions for performance or any other reasons from the System Settings.

Steps to stop and disable KDE background services:

  1. Launch System Settings from the launcher.
  2. Click on Startup and Shutdown menu on the sidebar.
  3. Go to Background Services panel from the sidebar menu.
  4. Click on Stop Service icon of selected KDE services to stop the service.

  5. Uncheck the checkbox of selected KDE services to disable service from automatically starting on new KDE session.
  6. Click on Apply button to save the configuration changes.
