If enabled, System Restore will create a restore point or a backup of your system during events such as performing Windows updates. You can also manually create a restore point for System Restore.

When there are some system issues, or you want to revert to the previous state of Windows, you can restore your system from the available restore points.

Steps to restore from System Restore's restore point in Windows 11:

  1. Launch the Settings app from the Search bar.
  2. Click on System on the sidebar.
  3. Scroll down and click on About.
  4. Click on the System protection link.

  5. Click on the System Restore button.
  6. Click Next to proceed to next step.
  7. Select a restore point from the list.
  8. Click Next to proceed.
  9. Click Finish to start with the restore process.

  10. Click Yes to confirm and continue.
  11. Wait for System Restore to prepare for the restore process.
  12. Wait for Windows to reboot.
  13. Wait for System Restore to finish restoring when the system boots.
  14. Log in to use Windows from the restored restore point.
